It has officially been made clear to me that it is now fall. I gradually noticed this change when I had sandals on the other day. My toes were so chilled, you could serve a beverage at that temperature to guests at a party. But I was in denial, since I did not have much of a summer. I wanted to prolong the remaining time that was alloted for summer before fall arrived. That gradual warning came full blast this morning when I left my court apartment to go to class. Boy what a surprise! The days have been rainy so boots, and full shoes were in order, but it was something about this morning that really woke me up from my mid morning daze. Thick socks with my boots were definately in order, as was a scarf, and extra jacket to put over my sweater. I just do not do well in the cold, especially when it comes in intervals of shock as this morning. Winter coat soon, maybe?

I never get over the shock of having to cram my toes into real shoes after a summer of nothing but flip-flops (or in my case, FitFlops, the gym-in-a-shoe for lazy people who hate the gym but want to imagine they're working out when they walk from the fridge to the pool to the fridge). This weekend, I couldn't do the whole sock/shoe thing, so I was walking around in jeans and a sweater and FitFlops. Cold toes beat choked toes, for now at least. Nice post!
ReplyDeletep.s. For other gym-haters, here's the FitFlops link: http://www.fitflop.com/ There are also these ridiculously expensive MBT shoes that are supposed to burn 50% more calories, etc. Meh. Skechers has a shoe that's promising to do the same sort of thing. I'm saving my change for those. Can't resist fitness cheats.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but I couldn't get much further past the point you made about your cold toes being used as ice cubes...yuck
ReplyDeleteI'm still wearing my flip flops... I have put all my other sandels away for the winter but... I just can't put away my flip flops. i love them to much.
